Turnitin Sign Up For Students

Creating a Turnitin account is pretty easy once you know what to look for. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started.

1. Get the Class ID and Enrollment Key

Before you sign up, you’ll need two things from your teacher:

  • Class ID – a number that identifies your class
  • Enrollment Key – a password that lets you join the class

You must have both of these to create your student account.

2. Go to the Turnitin Website

Open your browser and go to turnitin.com (or your school’s Turnitin login page if they use a special version).

Once you’re there, look for the “Create Account” link under the login boxes.

3. Choose “Student”

On the Create Account page, you’ll see different account types.
Click “Student” to continue.

4. Fill in Your Class Information

You’ll now be asked for:

  • Class ID
  • Enrollment Key

Enter both exactly as your instructor gave them.
If you make a typo, Turnitin won’t let you join the class.

5. Enter Your Personal Information

Next, you’ll fill out your details:

  • Your first and last name
  • A valid email address (this becomes your username)
  • A password you can remember
  • A secret question and answer (in case you forget your password)

Keep everything simple and accurate.

6. Agree to the User Agreement

Scroll through the agreement and click “I Agree — Create Profile.”

Once you do this, your account will be created.

7. You’re In!

After signing up, you’ll be taken to your Turnitin student homepage.
Here, you’ll see your class and any assignments your teacher has set up.

From this page you can:

  • Submit papers
  • Check due dates
  • View originality reports (if your teacher allows it)

Quick Tips

  • If Turnitin says your Class ID or Enrollment Key is wrong, ask your teacher to confirm them.
  • Use an email you check often—Turnitin may send important notifications.
  • Write down your password or save it somewhere safe.
